COURSE OVERVIEW:
The Fresh Clinics Dermal Filler Course is a one-day intensive program designed to equip nurses with essential theoretical knowledge and practical skills in aesthetic filler treatments in the Cheeks and Lips. This course combines comprehensive online pre-learning with hands-on clinical experience to ensure you feel confident and prepared to deliver safe, high-quality results.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
- Understand facial anatomy, layers of the face and the ageing process.
- Conduct detailed facial assessments for symmetry, volume loss and aesthetic concerns.
- Gather thorough medical histories, screen for Body Dysmorphic Disorder, and communicate treatment options effectively.
- Obtain informed consent verbally and in writing.
- Perform structured ISBAR handovers for treatment authorisation.
- Identify various dermal filler products and their indications ? (Josie)
- Select appropriate treatment sites based on facial anatomy and aesthetic goals, and demonstrate precise marking techniques for accurate results.
- Safely prepare dermal filler products in an aseptic technique and calculate correct dosages.
- Adhere to medication administration principles and ensure infection control.
- Provide comprehensive post–procedure care instructions and monitor for complications.
- Recognise potential risks and complications associated
- Gain proficiency in management of adverse events
- Learn safe and effective injection techniques
- Deepen understanding by discussing case studies
- Maintain accurate procedural documentation and comply with legal requirements.

Your ONLINE LEARNING will include:
Before your practical day, you’ll receive access and be required to complete our extensive online modules covering the following:
- Clinical Legalities and Scope of Practice
- Facial Anatomy and Ageing
- Mechanisms of medications and safe use in practice
- Dosage and injection techniques
- Consultation, assessment, and informed consent
- Working with a consulting doctor and scripting processes
- Identifying and managing complications and adverse events
- Post-treatment care, documentation, and professional standards
All online learning must be completed before attending your practical training. Fresh Clinics Reserves the right to reschedule training if pre learning is not complete.
Your in-person training will include:
Your in-person training is an intensive, hands-on day designed to apply everything you’ve learned online. Under the supervision of a Clinical Nurse Trainer and in partnership with a prescribing doctor, you will:
- Perform up to 5 Dermal Filler Treatments on models
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop treatment plans
- Learn precise marking and injection techniques for the Cheeks and Lips
- Practice safe product administration, with a focus on aseptic technique
- Handle live consultation, consent, and post-treatment instructions
- Develop skills in managing real-time patient feedback and professional documentation
KEY LEARNING AREAS IN THE PRACTICAL SESSION INCLUDE:
- Fundamentals of facial anatomy and the ageing process
- Understanding S4 medications and dermal filler product properties
- Assessment, consultation, and consent procedures
- Comprehensive full-face assessment and treatment planning
- Techniques for dermal filler treatments in the cheeks and lips
- Precise marking and safe injection techniques
- Identifying and managing risks, side effects, and complications
- Best practices for documentation and patient aftercare
- Introduction to Fresh Clinics software and app
- Handling patient complaints and maintaining professional conduct
- Ethical considerations in social media and marketing for S4 medication
- Adherence to professional and regulatory standards
- Analysis and discussion of case studies
MODELS FOR TRAINING
You’ll treat 5 models during your practical training. You are required to source 3 of these models. Sourcing models is an essential part of preparing for clinical practice and gaining confidence with your own patient network.
A Fresh Clinics Education Support Nurse will be in touch to guide you on selecting appropriate models to ensure you gain the most from your practical training.
For each individual treatment, each model has a fee of $200 per treatment | ML.(including GST).
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
- To book the 1 Day Anti Wrinkle Course, you must be registered with AHPRA as an RN or EN.
If you are an Enrolled Nurse, please get in touch with our team before purchasing your session. - You will be required to do a basic sign-up with Fresh Clinics as a nurse, whether you’re currently working in a clinic or not.
- 1:1 experience
- Required to book 4 + weeks in advance.
- Minimum of 1-year, full time clinical experience as a nurse is required for this entry-level course
- You are expected to establish your clinic and begin treating within 6 weeks of completing your training. If this does not occur, an additional assessment may be required to ensure clinical readiness
- All Dermal Filler and consumables are provided — bring yourself and enclosed footwear
